The current economic situation has presented a challenge for many synagogue, church, and organizational offices - how to do more with less.  In this month's eNews, we present ways to save money using the office technology you already have.

Chances are you already have many of these tools in your office. Let the list jumpstart your brain in thinking of other ways you can be a good steward of the resources you've been given.

 
Computers
 
Not all cost cutting measures take a lot of time or effort. Unless your IT department says otherwise (because of backups done at night or other factors), turn off your computer at the end of your workday. During the day, if your computer is not used for periods of time, set it to sleep or hibernate. Computers and monitors left on expend energy even though they are not in use. The amount of power used depends on factors such as the type and age of the equipment, but generally, savings are $100 or more per year per computer.
