Church capital campaigns can be a wonderful opportunity for growth, both for the church as a whole and for individuals, but there should be careful planning. This month, we’re excited to share insights on capital campaigns from two men who have had many years experience in the faith-based community. I’ve worked with many churches and other faith-based organizations in strategic planning for over 25 years, and purposely allocating resources in order to maximize Kingdom impact is always vitally important. This planning often includes raising additional capital, and at times, this has resulted in a $1-$50 million capital campaign. I’ve learned two important things about conducting the most successful capital campaign:
1. Begin with the end in mind.
2. Hire a consultant.
So, when planning to conduct a successful capital campaign, I depend on the experts. This time, I chose Joel Mikell, president of RSI.
